For UK visitors to Continental Europe (excluding Switzerland). Electricity Supply: 230v 50Hz (same as UK) Plug: Moulded European (schuko) plug Lead: 10A flex 40cm long Sockets: 4 off UK 13A sockets Fused: Yes - Built in 10A fuse Max Current/Wattage: Current 10A /Power 2300W (total) Weight: 430g (less than half a bag of sugar) If
you are travelling to Continental Europe (excluding Switzerland and
Italy) and
find standard travel plugs
a bit fiddly or awkward to use, or if you (or your family) need more
than one item plugged in at a time, the eu2uk4
travelplug is the travel plug for you.
Safety Standards To start
with, the eu2uk4
travelplug comes with a moulded European plug (shown opposite). The plug is designed to fit perfectly into standard European sockets. This ensures no fiddling around to get a standard travel plug to fit properly, and also provides the correct earth continuity - sometimes, standard travel plugs do not allow the earth pin to be connected (a potentially dangerous situation when using earthed appliances like travel irons, etc.) Connected to the moulded European plug is approximately 40cm (16") of flex. This in turn connects to the 4-way UK multiblock. This
multiblock is made from high impact resilient rubber for durability. It
is designed to withstand harsh working conditions, and its strength
makes it ideal for use in a travelplug system such as this.Unlike UK 13A plugs, European plugs have no fuse. Therefore, to ensure the same level of safety as in the UK, the multiblock incorporates a fuse holder fitted with a standard 10A fuse. This fuse adds additional safety for the user, and protects the cable between the plug and the multiblock. Again standard travel plugs rarely incorporate a fuse, but often have a lower current rating than can normally be drawn using a 13A plug (another potentially dangerous situation). Overall, the eu2uk4 travelplug system provides a very safe, unique solution to using multiple items simultaneously up to a maximum of 2300 watts. The plug slides smoothly and effortlessly into European sockets, and provides 4 standard UK sockets for travel irons, travel hair dryers, and all battery chargers, etc - enough sockets for the whole family. The eu2uk4 travelplug system has been designed to provide many many years of trouble free use, and looks great - a real must for all travellers. PLEASE NOTE: This travelplug system is not suitable for Switzerland nor Italy. The eu2uk4
components conform to British Standards, and all relevant CE
certifications for use in Europe. The travelplug system has been
designed to use a European plug, not a UK plug, and therefore
is not to be used in the UK under any circumstances. Unlike UK plugs,
European plugs have no fuse, and so this system has been
designed to incorporate a 10A fuse in the multiblock for additional
safety.
